Jim Cottle

Magicats remembers Jim C., who passed away at his Buhl home on March 7, his life partner at his side. Jim found the perfect “retirement job” as a hands-on foster dad for nearly four years. Many a Magi-kitty matured under his gentle, attentive, personalized care that led them to great adoptions. Others continue as “works in progress” under the care of his partner. A genius with “special needs” kittens, his favorites included Elin-Ruby, Lucy Marie, and Jordana, each requiring surgery, including amputation, who mastered coping skills under his loving care. Scared, bewildered orphans gained confidence in his arms, his soft voice, and gentle manner showing them that life would be okay. A shy man, many of us got to know him only recently, becoming aware of his cat-whisper skills, and his 6th sense about when a kitty was ready for adoption. The work will continue in the care of his beloved life partner, assisted by his special personal kitties, Cubbie, Snook, and his last adoption, Kitten Milo Mark. He leaves his quiet home, his chickens, and the Magi-kitties in the safe and skilled hands of the woman who was his partner. Safe journey, dear Jim, as you continue your new adventure. Meet you at the Bridge.
